The spectrum of traumatic brain injuries (TBI) spans from mild in severity at one end of the range to severe disability or even death at the other. However, more current reports increased the number of troops to a total of 50 as symptoms developed that required the military to transport the service members to Germany for medical treatment. Of those injured, 31 were able to return to duty after getting careful medical attention and receiving medical clearance thereafter. A military spokesman noted that traumatic brain injuries can cause severe headaches, depression, fatigue, dizziness and memory loss and due to that severity require services that help lead to the best possible outcome.
